Ernest L. Gittens, Senior Partner
Ernest Gittens received his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Ottawa in 1981. His undergraduate degree in sociology was obtained at the University of Toronto.
Ernest’s practice focuses on Criminal Law, Family Law, Civil Litigation, and Personal Injury. He is a member of the Family Law Practice Group, the Criminal Practice Group, the Personal Injury Practice Group and the Civil Litigation Practice Group. Ernest has appeared before all divisions of the Provincial and Supreme Courts in Newfoundland and Labrador as well as the Supreme Court of Canada.
Ernest is a past President of the YM-YWCA, a former Chair of UNICEF Newfoundland and Labrador and a past member of the Multicultural Society. He is a current member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Atlantic Provinces Trial Lawyers Association.
In his 29 years of practice Ernest has gained considerable experience and currently maintains an extensive litigation practice.
